As a Tax Associate, Naveed is responsible for assisting the firm’s CPAs in managing the tax planning needs of our high-net-worth clients. Prior to working at TMG, he worked as a Staff Accountant at A&A Accounting where he was responsible for assisting the firm’s CPAs in managing their client's Financial Statements and 1040 Tax Returns. He also worked as a Tax Intern at Maner Costerisan where he was responsible for assisting the firm’s CPAs in completing client’s 1040 Tax Returns. Naveed holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Michigan State University, and a Master of Science in Accounting with a Concentration of Taxation from Oakland University.

Nick joined The Mather Group in April 2026 as a Wealth Advisor following the partnership with Sebold Capital Management. Nick is a dedicated lifelong learner who has earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®).
Nick specializes in helping business owners, executives, and high-net-worth families navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and purpose. He brings deep expertise in exit planning, working closely with business owners to design strategies for transitioning or selling their businesses while aligning personal, financial, and legacy goals. His approach integrates advanced tax, legal, and investment strategies, to uncover opportunities for growing and preserving wealth in a holistic and highly personalized manner.
Nick is passionate about educating clients, empowering them to make informed decisions, and building strategies that evolve alongside their lives and ambitions.
Outside of the office, Nick is married with two children. He enjoys staying active and spending quality time with his family.

Nico joined The Mather Group in 2025 after spending six years in IT consulting, where he specialized in Salesforce implementations across a variety of client environments. At TMG, he helps support back-office operations by partnering with internal teams to improve operational workflows and support system optimization. Nico earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

As an Investment Manager, Nolan monitors and analyzes the municipal credit market while assisting in the construction of fixed income models and bond ladders. Nolan joined The Mather Group in May 2022, bringing more than seven years of municipal credit experience. Most recently, he was an Assistant Vice President, Municipal Credit, at Conning. Previously, he was a Home Services Specialist at Bank of America. Nolan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Management from the University of Connecticut. He is also a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.

Olivia joined The Mather Group as a Senior Client Services Associate, bringing with her a diverse background in client service, operations, and executive support. Prior to joining TMG, Olivia served as an Operations and Client Services Manager at TCG Advisors, supported more than 11 C-suite executives as an Executive Assistant, and founded her own Virtual Assistant business. In her current role, she works closely with Wealth Advisors and custodial teams to support clients through account maintenance, money movement and onboarding.

Patrick first began his foray in the financial services world as he was beginning college in 2003 under the mentorship of his dad, George McCuen. In 2010, he transitioned to TD Ameritrade Institutional in San Diego, CA where his skills and experience were sharpened over the next eight years. As he obtained his securities licenses, Patrick moved his way up through the service team, operations, and ultimately the sales department. He then transitioned back to the advising side of the industry and joined with The Mather Group in 2025.
Having grown up in Napa, Patrick relocated to San Diego in 2005 to complete his undergraduate education at Point Loma Nazarene University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He currently resides near the La Jolla area with his blue heeler/border collie, Indy. He is an avid surfer who competes in an amateur Southern California surf league. His faith is a big part of who he is, and he could be found most Sundays playing guitar at Jesus Culture Church in San Diego. He enjoys traveling either to discover new surf spots or to his favorite European country, Italy, to exercise his Italian-speaking abilities.

Financial Planning Associate Patrick grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and currently lives in Lincoln Park. Patrick received a degree in finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Patrick enjoys speaking with perspective clients and growing The Mather Group.

As a Wealth Advisor, Rachel helps manage our valuable client relationships through the development and implementation of personalized financial plans to meet our clients’ unique needs. Rachel joined The Mather Group from Intrua Financial, where she supported a team that managed over $200M in AUM for 10+ years. Prior to Intrua Financial, she worked as a Branch Office Administrator at UBS Financial Services. Rachel holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation.

As a Director, Wealth Management, Randall develops meaningful client relationships while building and implementing personalized financial plans to meet our clients’ unique needs. Randall joined The Mather Group from Direct Energy, an electric and gas retail provider based in Houston, Texas. There he managed an analytics team focused on consolidating accounting estimates and forecasting future values for power and gas commodity deals. He holds his BBA in Finance and Master of Professional Accountancy from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Certified Public Accountant.

As a Business Development Director, Richard develops meaningful client relationships while building and implementing personalized financial plans to meet our clients’ unique needs. Prior to joining us in 2016 from Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. he was a Vice President, Financial Consultant. Richard earned his Bachelor of Science, Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Chartered Financial Consultant® designations, and also serves as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT.

As Director, Talent & Development, Rob helps lead the firm’s employee development initiatives, training, and new employee onboarding experience. Rob joined TMG in December 2023, bringing over 10 years of human resources experience to the role. Prior to joining TMG, Rob served as the Director of People and Culture at LG Group in Chicago. He has worked in a variety of HR roles across industries focused on training, leadership development, performance management, and company culture. He began his career in Wealth management in 2020 as a Senior Human Resources Associate at Kovitz Investment Group Partners LLC. Roberto earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Pomona College in Claremount, California.


Robert joined The Mather Group as a Wealth Advisor in November 2025 following the merger of Napa Wealth Management. Prior to The Mather Group, Robert spent 18 years in the technology industry and 9 years at Charles Schwab. At Charles Schwab he served as an Investment Specialist then VP Financial Consultant. He advised more than 300 clients with over $300 million in assets. After his time at Schwab, Robert founded Carneros Asset Management which later merged with Napa Wealth Management in 2015, allowing him to focus entirely on working with his clients.
Robert is a native of the Pacific Northwest, he now lives in Northern California, where he enjoys biking, skiing, and hiking with his wife, and their blended family of 7.

Bob Hogan joined The Mather Group as a Wealth Advisor in January 2026 following the merger of The Hogan-Knotts Financial Group, Inc. Bob focuses on intergenerational and legacy planning where he helps clients develop financial plans based on their families’ long-term goals. Prior to joining The Mather Group, Bob was one of two founders and Senior Planners at The Hogan-Knotts Financial Group, Inc. He is known for building trusted relationships and guiding clients through complex financial decisions with clarity and care.
Bob graduated with honors from Florida Tech, earning bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering. He later completed his professional financial education through The College for Financial Planning, where he earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) designation.
A frequent speaker and contributor within the financial community, Bob has presented to audiences including financial advisors, CPAs, corporate executives, and public investment forums. He has also been invited to write for financial publications.
Bob is deeply committed to community service and professional leadership. He has served on the Board of the Monmouth Unit of the American Cancer Society, including as Chair of the Special Contacts Committee and as a member of the Legacy and Planned Giving Committee. He is also a past President of the Estate and Financial Planning Council of Central New Jersey.
Bob is married and has two adult children. He values the balance between family, friends, professional excellence, and community involvement.

Ryan joined The Mather Group in May 2023 through the firm’s acquisition of Clear Perspectives Financial Planning, where he had worked since 2020, assisting with client meeting preparations and back-office management. Prior to Clear Perspectives, Ryan worked in financial planning operations. He earned his undergraduate degree in Finance and Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. Ryan is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.

As a Wealth Advisor, Ryan manages our valuable client relationships through developing financial plans and implementing customized, comprehensive financial solutions to meet their unique needs. He puts our clients' interest first and is committed to developing meaningful, long-term relationships. Ryan is a graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

Samantha joined The Mather Group as a Senior Client Service Associate, bringing five years of Client Service experience. In this role, Samantha supports the Wealth Advisors by working closely with custodial service teams to open new accounts, initiate money movements and other general account maintenance. Prior to joining The Mather Group, Samantha worked at TCG Advisors as the Operations and Client Service Manager.

As a Business Development Consultant, Sam manages our valuable client relationships through developing financial plans and implementing customized, comprehensive financial solutions to meet their unique needs. Sam is a graduate of The University of Iowa, where he received his B.B.A in Finance, and he is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner.

As Family Office, Senior Operations Associate, Sara is responsible for facilitating client service for the firm’s Family Office clients. This includes gathering client information and documentation, managing investment account administration, and collaborating with internal and external partners. Prior to joining TMG, Sara gained experience as an Administrative Assistant for various companies in the retail, hospitality, and financial industries. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree from the University of Utah.

Scott Emblen is a financial advisor with over 20 years of experience as a financial professional. Scott views his job as helping people clarify and quantify their financial situation to design and deliver on their financial life goals. In addition to client-facing roles, he spent several years on the institutional side educating advisors on financial products and services.
Scott earned his BA from Oregon State University and obtained the CFP® designation in 2003. Backed by the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® designation, he’s helped many individuals and couples navigate the divorce process. As a native of the Portland area, Scott spends his leisure time enjoying the outdoors and an active lifestyle with his girlfriend and stepdaughter. He’s also completed several Ironman Triathlons.

As a Wealth Advisor/Regional Leader, Scott develops and implements customized financial plans and comprehensive tax strategies to meet our clients’ unique goals and objectives. With over 20 years of wealth management and tax services experience, Scott has an impressive track record of helping high-net-worth clients with complex tax, trust, and estate planning support. Scott joined The Mather Group from a Houston-based independent wealth management firm where he was Director of Financial Planning for nine years. Prior to that, he served in tax and wealth management roles at a handful of firms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers. Scott holds his BA and JD from the University of Idaho and completed a graduate program in Taxation at University of Washington School of Law.

As a Trader, Seamus is involved in daily trading activity, as well as executing complex investment strategies and managing portfolio accounting and maintenance for all clients. Seamus joined The Mather Group in May 2022 after working as a Mutual Fund Specialist at U.S. Bank. Seamus earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a minor in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Sean is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner and a graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he received his BS in Business with a major in Finance. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation

Prior to Sean joining The Mather Group in April 2026 as Director of Business Owner Strategy, he was the founder and CEO of Sebold Capital Management. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial planning and investment management industries with diverse background and experience, ranging from working on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to a Global Consultancy in Andersen Consulting, providing a unique vantage on wealth management. By focusing on the distinct needs of business owners, leaders and their families, Sean is able to guide the client through life decisions that bridge the gap between wealth and quality of life.
Sean is a strong believer that education and knowledge provide value, he is a part of a small group of advisors that have earned both the CFP® certification and the CFA Charter. Both designations are the highest level of certification in their respective field. (Less than 3% of all advisors in the country hold both designations.) His formal education began with a BA in English from Villanova University. He completed his CFP® education at the College for Financial Planning and went on to obtain an MBA with majors in Finance, International Business and Marketing from Northwestern University's Kellogg School.
He was a member of the Legislative Committee for the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and was the Treasurer for the Hesed House, the second largest homeless shelter in Illinois. He is a past-president and past-chairman of the Financial Planning Association of Illinois. After serving at the state level, Sean chaired the Financial Planning Association's National Pro Bono Advisory Committee. He also served on the Illinois State Treasurer's Advisory Council on Financial Education and Literacy.
Sean's unique philosophy of financial planning has been quoted in many articles, most prominently in The Wall Street Journal, AARP Magazine, Crain's Chicago Business, CFA Magazine, Financial Advisor Magazine, USAA Magazine and the Chicago Tribune. He has made presentations at the Kane County Bar Association, Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, the CFA Institute of Chicago, and at the Financial Planning Association meetings. He has been a guest on WTTW's Chicago Tonight with Phil Ponce as well as ABC's Sunday Morning “NewsViews” with Alan Krashesky and Fox News.
When not working, Sean spends his time with his wife, four children, and their German Shepherd dog. He also enjoys, tennis, sailing and is an avid photographer.

Shae joined The Mather Group as a Senior Financial Planning Associate in April 2026 after the partnership with Sebold Capital Management. He holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designations.
Shae is responsible for building and maintaining comprehensive financial plans, as well as analyzing complex tax and estate planning scenarios. He prepares tailored recommendations that align with each client’s unique goals and circumstances.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Shae now lives in the Naperville area with his partner, Chelsea, and their dog, Arlo. They enjoy visiting farmers markets, attending sporting events, exploring antique shops, and making the occasional trip into the city to try new restaurants.
