As a Tax Director, Emily develops tax-reduction strategies for corporate executives and retirees. She simplifies complex scenarios for clients while maximizing after-tax cash flows. Emily also assists with the tax compliance services to our Family Office clientele. She joined The Mather Group from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she served as a Tax Intern, Tax Associate, and Senior Tax Associate in their Financial Services group. There she provided tax compliance services to private equity firms, real estate companies, and hedge funds. She holds her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Miami University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

As a Tax Associate, Janet is responsible for assisting the firm’s CPAs in managing the tax planning needs of our high-net-worth clients. Janet joined The Mather Group in June 2022, after graduating from DePaul University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.

As an Office Manager, Sunita coordinates a wide variety of administrative functions and intra-office communications. She joined The Mather Group in August 2022 with the acquisition of HC Financial Advisors, where she was instrumental in scheduling appointments, updating client information, maintaining HC’s mailings, and keeping the office well stocked to create an environment that can run without a hitch. She earned her Bachelor of Commerce at Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. Sunita is dedicated to providing excellent service to our clients.

As the Chief Executive Officer of The Mather Group (TMG) Jen cultivates a collaborative culture through inclusive and supportive leadership. Her unwavering commitment to keeping clients at the center of all efforts drives her approach. With a deep understanding of the industry and her commitment to excellence, Jen prioritizes creating an environment where her team receives the support, guidance, and resources necessary to serve our clients with the highest Fiduciary standards. During her tenure as Chief Revenue Officer at TMG, Jen led a dynamic team, overseeing Business Development, Inside Sales, Wealth Advisors, Client Services, and Marketing, driving strategic growth and enhancing client engagement.
Her extensive professional experience includes Jen joining the MetLife Premier Client Group as a Managing Partner in 2013, leading an advisor force of over 160 financial advisors. She later became the CEO of MassMutual Illinois in 2016, and in 2020, after a merger with WestPoint Financial Group, she assumed the role of Partner and Chief Experience Officer, leading various departments including Investments, Compliance, Practice Development, and Financial Planning.
Jen is a cum laude graduate of the New England School of Law and received her Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York Buffalo. She has achieved numerous life goals, finding her greatest success in helping others. A lawyer, award-winning financial service provider, wife, mother of three, and former Division 1 basketball captain, Jen is proud of motivating and inspiring others to succeed.

As Chief Financial Officer, Ryan provides leadership and guidance on all financial matters, from budgeting, reporting, and modeling to compliance, controls, and audits. Ryan joined The Mather Group in November 2022 after spending the previous 12 years at Northern Trust in financial roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as Chief Financial Officer of Northern Trust Asset Management. His prior roles include serving as International Tax Manager at Komatsu America Corporation, Supervisor of Corporate Finance and Strategic Initiatives at Navistar, Internal Consultant at Walgreens, and International Financial Analyst at Comdisco. Ryan earned a BS in Accounting from Saint Xavier University, a MS in Accounting from the University of Illinois, and a Masters in Business Administration with concentrations in Strategy, International Business, Managerial Economics, and Organizational Behavior from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is also a board member emeritus and former Treasurer of the Naperville Area Humane Society.

As Chief Compliance Officer, Stu manages and coordinates all activities related to compliance with the firm’s regulatory requirements as a federally registered investment adviser. Stu joined The Mather Group in April 2023, bringing nearly 30 years of industry experience in compliance, operations, and mergers and acquisitions. His previous roles include serving as Chief Compliance Officer for Cerity Partners, Executive Monetary Management and Sage Advisors, and Ladenburg Thalmann Asset Management. Stu is an Investment Advisor Certified Compliance Professional (IACCP®) and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Randolph Macon College.

As Chief Operating Officer, Kristen focuses on firm operations, transition management, and strategic planning. She is responsible for overseeing day-to-day trading and operations, planning and execution of M&A transition efforts, and developing and improving business systems, processes, and technology. She identifies areas of internal control improvement and implements business changes to create operational efficiencies and mitigate risk. Kristen holds a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining TMG, Kristen served as Vice President and Sr. Project Manager at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she managed business and regulatory initiatives and technologies for the bank’s Global Rates division.

As Chief Talent Officer, Jessica provides strategic leadership for human capital, human resources, and cultural objectives. Jessica partners with TMG’s Executive Leadership Team to design and implement talent and people strategies, including but not limited to engagement, development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Jessica joined TMG in October 2023, bringing over 15 years of human capital and leadership experience. Immediately prior to TMG, Jessica served as a Principal and Chief People Officer at Kovitz Investment Group Partners, overseeing the Human Resource function, and serving on the firm’s Executive Committee. She held previous roles in the fintech and manufacturing spaces. Jessica earned a BA in Human Services, with a minor in Business Management from Millikin University and is currently pursuing a MS in Organizational Change and Learning from Northwestern University.

John brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in financial services, with a proven track record of driving organizational growth, building high-performance teams, and leading successful turnarounds. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President at Lincoln Investment, where he was responsible for leading the independent distribution channel of more than 1,000 advisors nationwide. Under his leadership, the firm achieved industry-leading advisor retention, double-digit productivity growth, and a 144% increase in new fee-based investors.
Previously, John was CEO of Concord Wealth Management, where he transformed the organization from last in the country to #2 nationally, growing overall revenue by 327% and earning the President’s Award. He also held multiple leadership roles at Ameriprise Financial, where he consistently elevated underperforming regions and branches to top-ranked positions nationally, including bringing the Hartford, CT branch from #100 to # 1 in the country. In addition, through his own firm, The Laurito Group, John has advised executives and organizations around the world as a business consultant, keynote speaker, and executive coach.
John is also the author of Tomorrow’s Leader: How the Best Leaders Get Better in a Fast-Changing World and host of the Tomorrow’s Leader Podcast, which reaches listeners in more than 90 countries.
John earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rutgers University. He resides in Holly Springs, North Carolina, with his son, Nick and his daughter, Skylar, both of whom are currently attending Appalachian State University. John enjoys staying active with exercise and racquet sports, and spending time outdoors kayaking, hiking and biking.

With over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, Deana brings a wealth of expertise in marketing and communications. As the Chief Marketing Officer, she spearheads all marketing initiatives and communication strategies, maintaining a steadfast focus on a client-centric approach.
Before joining TMG, Deana was Head of Client Experience at Moonstone Asset Management, where she enhanced client engagement. Previously, she was Head of US Intermediary Marketing at Northern Trust Asset Management, where she led strategic marketing initiatives and cultivated key relationships.
Outside of work, Deana is passionate about traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with her family. She is a proud mother of two and loves creating memorable experiences with them.

Doug Lennick is CEO and co-founder of think2perform. He is legendary for his innovative approaches to developing high performance in individuals and organizations and is an expert at developing practical applications of the art and science of human behavior, financial and otherwise. Before founding think2perform, Doug, a certified financial planner (CFP), was Executive Vice President – Advice and Retail Distribution for American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise Financial). In that capacity he led an organization of 17,000 field and corporate associates to unprecedented success.

As a Wealth Advisor/Regional Leader, James manages and strengthens valuable client relationships through the development and implementation of personalized financial plans tailored to meet their unique needs. He holds a BS in Finance from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Prior to joining The Mather Group, James served as a Client Relationship Manager at Northern Trust.

As Head of Equities, Managing Director, Adam assists the firm’s Wealth Advisors in identifying clients’ investment goals and retirement needs. He assesses and develops new investment offerings and works with clients and the trading team to implement personalized investment solutions. Adam is also a member of the Investment Committee and co-author of TMG’s Quarterly Market Updates and other thought leadership pieces. He earned a BS in Finance from the University of Dayton, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. Adam joined The Mather Group from First Financial Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he served as an Investment Officer.

Melissa joined The Mather Group in June 2023 as the Executive Assistant to the CEO. Before working at TMG, Melissa was the Executive Assistant to the CEO at Wipfli Financial Advisors (WFA) and then Creative Planning, she was an Administrative Assistant at Wipfli LLP, a top-20 public accounting firm and prior majority owner of WFA. Her earlier experience includes more than 18 years in administrative professional roles. Melissa provides a high level of professionalism with a positive mindset and excellent organizational skills. She plays a vital role in coordinating and managing day-to-day functions.
