TAX OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

The Mather Group is seeking a Tax Operations Specialist to support our growing Tax Team and help deliver an exceptional client experience. Reporting to the Tax manager, they will be responsible for ensuring timely, high-quality service by assisting with the distribution of deliverables, filing client tax obligations, and maintaining tax accounts within our CRM. They’ll play a key role in managing tax team communications, providing administrative support to drive efficiency and client satisfaction. This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to tax projects, support the development of new service offerings, and propose process improvements to strengthen our operations. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively support the team to provide high quality client service that meets or exceeds the expectations of clients and the Tax Team as a whole.
  • Manage competing deadlines and filing client tax obligations pertaining to the distribution of tax team deliverables to clients and the filing of client tax obligations in a timely manner while assuring compliance with all applicable deadlines
  • Manage the creation, distribution, execution, as well as the maintenance and reporting of client agreements
  • Create and maintain tax accounts with the TMG CRM and external partners
  • Own the mass distribution of tax team communication to our clients throughout the year
  • Oversee various administrative responsibilities of the Tax Team, and identify and propose technological and process improvements
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of invoices and reporting
  • Assist with tax projects and development of new service offerings for clients, the Tax Team and other departments of TMG
  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education

DESIRED EXPEREINCE

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2 – 4 years of administrative experience required
  • Previous experience in public accounting or the financial services industry a plus
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong track record of achievement and meeting/exceeding ambitious targets and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A motivated, self-starter looking for a place to grow your career

ROLE INFORMATION

  • Location: Houston, TX  
  • Role Information: Full-Time (Hybrid)
  • Reports to: Tyler Anderson; Tax Manager, Senior
  • Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000*, plus 8% annual individual bonus opportunity; and opportunity to participate in TMG’s Management Incentive Program (MIP)
