The Mather Group Project Manager/Business Analyst - Chicago

As the main point of contact, will actively communicate with clients on a daily basis, providing advice on cash flows/tax planning strategies, estate/insurance issues, identify investment goals/retirement planning needs and implement recommendations with assistance of support staff. In addition, this position will meet with referrals in their territory and effectively close sales with the support of a leading financial planning team.

about THE POSITION

The Project Manager/Business Analyst will be responsible for the success of M&A integrations and other projects. This role requires business workflow and project management leadership skills to plan, prepare, and execute the successful integration of acquisitions and the delivery of other critical projects. The role requires effective written and verbal communication skills to support interaction with all functions and levels of the organization. The position requires hands-on involvement in analysis, planning, and implementation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Define project scope and deliverables for M&A integration projects and other assigned projects.
  • Manage the overall success of projects, including requirements definition, resource planning, and quality assurance activities.
  • Develop project plans and regularly deliver project status and other ad hoc updates.
  • Manage all facets of projects and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the company and newly acquired RIA firms throughout the integration process.
  • Leverage intellectual capital and experience to resolve internal and external challenges.
  • Identify and communicate project risks and develop and identify/implement risk response.
  • Define critical relationships between people, processes, and technology.
  • Understand the utility of legacy systems, applications, and technical platforms and how they will transition or interact with TMG’s systems.
  • Create or adapt business requirement and process flows for projects.
  • Facilitate and conduct systems testing.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred.
  • 15+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience managing M&A, technology, and business projects.
  • Experience managing organizational change management within a project.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proven experience delivering projects to completion, on time and on budget.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem solving, process improvement, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, with continuously changing business needs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple simultaneous, unique projects while meeting specific deadlines.
  • Ability to successfully communicate with internal business partners to build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability, and who can effectively prioritize all responsibilities.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various departments and seniority levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio.
