As the main point of contact, will actively communicate with clients on a daily basis, providing advice on cash flows/tax planning strategies, estate/insurance issues, identify investment goals/retirement planning needs and implement recommendations with assistance of support staff. In addition, this position will meet with referrals in their territory and effectively close sales with the support of a leading financial planning team.

Based in Washington, D.C., the Senior Wealth Advisor is responsible for winning new business for the firm by meeting with prospective clients across the Washington, D.C. market. Initial meetings with prospective clients will be arranged by the firm's Inside Sales Team, to whom you will then be responsible for introducing TMG’s comprehensive retirement planning services (financial planning, tax planning, estate planning), using our proven sales methodology.  As the prospect eventually becomes a client, the client relationship will be managed by a Wealth Advisor on a go-forward basis.

As a Business Development - Senior Wealth Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Based in Washington, D.C., growing the business by meeting with prospective clients in the Washington, D.C. region. 
  • Meeting with high-net-worth referrals to win new business for TMG.
  • Introducing the firm’s comprehensive retirement planning process (financial planning, tax planning, estate planning) to prospective clients.
  • Actively communicating with clients daily, providing advice on cash flows, tax planning strategies, estate/insurance inquiries, investment goals, and retirement planning needs.
  • Implementing recommendations and strategies with assistance from our support staff.
  • Assisting in updating and maintaining clients’ financial plans.
  • Continually reinforcing the firm’s value proposition with clients and encouraging referrals.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • 5+ years of professional experience with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, Financial Planning, or Business
  • Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®) designation required
  • Graduate degree or professional designations (ChFC, CFA®, or CPA) a plus
  • If not currently held, must obtain mandatory industry licensure (Series 65) within two months of employment
  • Strong track record of achievement and meeting/exceeding ambitious targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A motivated, self-starter looking for a place to grow your career


  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.

Most work responsibilities are performed in an open office setting, carrying out detailed work sitting at a desk/table and working on the computer. Travel is required.
